Careless Freedom is doing anything that I disapprove of...
not to mention the fact that Johnny Depp is actually something of a role model- the guy lives with his family in a small town in France so that they do not have to put up with all of the crap involved with "Hollywood" living. you know, so his kids can grow up as normal people instead of spoiled brats.
so it boils down to the fact that Kersten just doesn't like the fact that the character of a pirate is not a role model. why is she employed exactly?

Mrs. Kersten's continued employment with the Star Tribune perhaps lends credence to right-wingers' oft-repeated claims that liberals control the major media. A rascally liberal newspaper editor might "balance" the views represented by his columnists by giving Kersten a regular forum to publish her logically disjointed screeds, instead of a conservative who actually can articulate organized thoughts in her writing. By giving the same dingbat a voice again and again, the Strib may subtly guide its readers to conclude that conservatives in general are stupid. So cruel to make a naive innocent like Kersten an unwitting pawn in their conspiracy.
